UNDERGROUND EVERYWHERE JAMAICA
Underground Everywhere Jamaica explores the roots of the banjo through the perspective of host, Demeanor. For UEJA he will explore the idea of “Out of Many Banjos One” in which the banjo is not a singular instrument but one that came from many hands and cultures.
The UE team will partner with Jeff Menzies, a banjo builder, as their liaison of the island. Together they will explore the past and current history and culture of Jamaica, collaborate with local artists, and conclude with the building of a banjo out of locally sourced materials.
